Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved a long-term and interest-free "Hajj Savings Plan" to facilitate Hajj pilgrims.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony in Islamabad today, the Prime Minister has approved a summary in this regard which was jointly submitted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, the Finance Ministry, and National Savings.

The approval paves the way for introducing a Sharia-compliant digital financial mechanism to help Pakistani pilgrims plan and save for Hajj in advance.

Under the scheme, intending pilgrims will be able to deposit funds on a monthly basis through digital channels.

The initiative aims to facilitate systematic financial planning, mitigate the impact of rising inflation, and make Hajj preparation easier for citizens.

Relevant authorities have been directed to finalize the rules and regulations within two months.
