The 15th death anniversary of veteran theatre TV and film actor Jamil Fakhri is being observed today (Tuesday).

Jamil Fakhri gained popularity through his role as SHO Jaffar Hussain in TV series 'Andhera Ujala'.

Besides appearing in several television dramas, he also acted in more than 50 Pakistani films.

He was awarded Pride of Performance by the President of Pakistan in 2002 and Nigar Award for the best comedian in film Yeh Zamana Aur Hai in 1981.

Jamil Fakhri died on this day in Lahore in 2011.
