Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction over the approval of a one billion dollar tranche for Pakistan by the International Monetary Fund and the failure of India's hideous tactics against it.

In a statement today, the Prime Minister praised the performance of the government's economic team, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb and Secretary Finance Imdadullah Bosal in this regard.

The Prime Minister said Pakistan's economic situation has improved and the country is moving to development.

He said India is making a sinister conspiracy to divert attention from our country's development through unilateral aggression.

He said international institutions have responsibly rejected India's false propaganda as Indian attempts to sabotage the IMF program have failed.

Shehbaz Sharif said the IMF program will help stabilize Pakistan's economy and put it on the path of long-term recovery.

The Prime Minister said government is working on priority areas like tax reform, improved energy sector performance and private sector development.

He said positive economic indicators in the last 14 months are a reflection of the government's prudent policies.

Shehbaz Sharif said the government is committed to economic stability, effective performance and sustainable planning.
