Low to intermittent and heavy rain continues to lash in different areas of Karachi today (Friday) causing inundation of low lying areas.

Gulishan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Johar, Nazimabad, Malir, Gaddap and other areas received showers today that affected routine life and caused traffic jam in different areas.

Staff of local bodies department and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation along with required machinery is busy in draining out rain water from low lying areas.

Meanwhile, relief and rehabilitation activities are in full swing in the rain-affected districts of Balochistan.

According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority Quetta, Lasbela, Sibi, Harnai, Dukki, Kohlu, Barkhan, Zhob and Dera Bugti are the most affected districts by recent heavy monsoon rains.

A tent Village has been set up by the district administration for the victims of heavy rains and floods in Quetta while relief goods and food are being distributed among the victims.

The district administration and PDMA are working with heavy machinery to deal with the emergency situation caused by rains in Quetta and other affected areas of the province.

While, on the directives of Gilgit Baltistan Chief Minister Muhammad Khalid Khurshid, the concerned departments and district administrations are engaged in relief operations and rehabilitation activities in floods affected Areas.

In a statement, the Home Secretary said rehabilitation work in flood affected areas is in progress.

Link roads affected in remote valleys in Ghizer, Diamer Gawari, Khanbery have been restored.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Army has delivered food packs and medicines to the affectees by helicopter in Ghazar district.
