Peshawar: Teen’s valve changed without open-heart surgery

In a new achievement, the Peshawar Institute of Cardiology has successfully conducted the first of its kind heart surgery of a child without cutting the chest.

According to spokesperson of P.I.C Riffat Anjum, the heart valve of a seventeen-year old patient was changed without making a cut on his chest.

With this, the hopes of young cardiac patients for their treatment have risen high.

Pakistani Pediatric cardiologists from the United Kingdom, UAE and Lady Reading Hospital participated in the surgery.

It is worth mentioning that the hospital had already been conducting the non-cut heart surgeries of adult patients.
