Caretaker Minister for Health Dr Nadeem Jan has said that universal health insurance programme is being evolved in consultation with all the provinces to provide better healthcare facilities to the people.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad today, he said the universal health insurance programme will also be free for poor segments of society.

Dr Nadeem Jan said five hundred Basic Health Units are being rehabilitated across the country to improve primary healthcare facilities.

He said the caretaker government is committed to bring reforms in health sector despite numerous challenges.

The Minister said a mechanism is also being evolved for providing better treatment to patients of diabetes and hepatitis at government hospitals.

Dr Nadeem Jan said real time data of hospitals is being digitized which will further improve better health facilities at hospitals.

Responding to a question, he said 80 percent complaints regarding healthcare facilities have been resolved.
