Pakistani Embassies in Rome, Baghdad mark Defence day

A simple but elegant ceremony was organized at the Pakistan embassy in Rome today to mark Defence day.

The ambassador paid tribute to the armed forces personnel who laid down their lives for the motherland.

Messages of the Prime Minister and President were read by the deputy head of mission Tanveer Ahmed and head of chancery Salman Pervez to the audience.

The ambassador in his message said Kashmiris must be given the right of self-determination as per the United Nations Security Council resolutions.

He said Pakistan would always stand with the Kashmiris in their just struggle for freedom.

Pakistan Embassy in Iraq also observes Defence and Martyrs Day 

Defence and Martyrs Day observed at Pakistan Embassy in Iraq with great zeal and fervor. 

A special ceremony was organized in Baghdad today, showing solidarity with Kashmiri brethren. Expatriate Pakistanis from all walks of life in Iraq participated in the event.

The ceremony began with the flag hoisting and Pakistan Ambassador Sajid Bilal read out Prime Minister Imran Khan's message to the gathering. 

The Ambassador highlighted the illegal actions taken by India to change the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir in violation of UN Resolutions, international law, bilateral agreements, and solemn commitments of the Indian leaders.

He expressed grave concerns on indefensible lockdown in Indian Occupied Kashmir for the fifth consecutive week, complete media blackout and lack of access to food, medicines, and healthcare facilities.

He urged the world community to take notice of the grave human rights violations in the Indian Occupied Kashmir.
