Pakistan Railways and Government of Balochistan have agreed to launch "People's Train Service" between Saryab and Kuchlak.
This was decided at a high-level meeting held in Quetta with Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti in the chair.
The Government of Balochistan will procure engines and coaches for the service from Pakistan Railways instead of being imported. To this end, Railways Minister Muhammad Hanif Abbasi assured that within six months, engines, coaches, and other necessary facilities will be provided.
It was also decided in the meeting that Pakistan Railways will begin upgrading the existing infrastructure on the route to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the service.
The Minister for Railways described the project as a respectable, affordable, and fast travel solution for the people of Balochistan. He said the service will mark the beginning of a new era of transportation for the public and will provide high-quality travel facilities to the local population.
