Pakistan, Qatar reaffirm commitment to regional peace

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call from Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani today.

During the warm and cordial conversation, the two leaders exchanged views on the prevailing regional situation.

Both the sides reaffirmed their strong commitment to supporting ongoing efforts aimed at ensuring lasting peace in the region.

Recalling his recent visit to Doha last month, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said his meetings with Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and other Qatari leaders were highly productive in building consensus on peace efforts.

The Prime Minister said the people of Pakistan were looking forward to the visit of the Amir of Qatar at an early convenient date, adding that the visit would further strengthen and deepen Pakistan-Qatar relations.

The Prime Minister of Qatar appreciated Pakistan’s continued efforts for peace and stability in the region. He assured Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Qatar’s support for diplomatic efforts aimed at ensuring peace, security, and stability in the Middle East.

The two leaders also agreed to remain in close contact and continue coordination on matters of mutual interest.
