Pakistan, KSA agree to further strengthen energy cooperation

Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik and Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki held a meeting in Islamabad today and agreed to further strengthen energy cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Speaking on the occasion, Ali Pervaiz Malik said Pakistan is keen to expand its strategic energy partnership with Saudi Arabia, particularly with Saudi Aramco. He expressed gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for giving Pakistan special priority in petroleum supplies.

The Minister said the government is taking measures to meet the country’s energy requirements and highly values Saudi cooperation in this regard.

The Saudi Ambassador appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting peace and regional stability. He assured full Saudi support to help Pakistan address its energy security challenges.

During the meeting, the two sides also discussed energy security, refinery upgradation options, and reviewed ongoing cooperation in the energy sector.

Both sides reiterated their commitment to further expand investment opportunities and collaboration in the energy sector.
