May 07, 2025

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has strongly condemned India’s aggression against Pakistan, denouncing its attacks on civilian populations.

Speaking to global media organizations, including Sky News, TRT World and BBC, he said that India has carried out strikes on five locations in Pakistan, resulting in the deaths of women and children. He added that a detailed assessment of the damage is currently underway.

The Minister emphasized that Pakistan has never initiated aggression but retains the right to defend itself. He condemned India’s targeting of civilian populations as highly reprehensible.

Attaullah Tarar said the locations attacked had no terrorist camps, refuting Indian claims. He said foreign and local journalists were taken to areas near the Line of Control that India had accused of hosting such camps.

Regarding the Pahalgam incident, the Minister asserted that India lacks evidence of Pakistan’s involvement. He pointed out that Pahalgam is located 200 kilometers away from the Line of Control, further challenging India's allegations. He described the incident as a failure of Indian security forces.

Highlighting Pakistan’s ongoing fight against terrorism, Attaullah Tarar stressed that the country itself is a victim of terrorism, battling extremist elements in its western regions and border areas. He reaffirmed Pakistan's status as a frontline state in the global war against terrorism, noting that the country has sacrificed 90,000 lives in this fight.

The Minister criticized India for failing to condemn the Jaffar Express terrorist incident and accused it of being involved in terrorist activities across various nations, including Pakistan.

He further alleged that India has carried out massacres of Sikhs in the United States, Canada, and Australia. He said Pakistan possesses substantial evidence of India’s involvement in terrorism, citing Indian naval officer Kulbhushan Jadhav’s role in terror-related activities as concrete proof.

The Minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to global peace, underscoring that the country’s desire for stability should never be mistaken for weakness.
