The Election Commission of Pakistan, taking notice of the continuous broadcasting of political advertisements and statements on the electronic media, has strictly instructed the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority to hold all such channels accountable under Section 182 of the Elections Act 2017.

The ECP asked the PEMRA that under Section 182 of the Elections Act, 2017 and the Commission's Code of Conduct for National Media, that there is a ban on the dissemination of election campaigns, advertisements and other materials on media since 12:00 AM.
