The 9th meeting of Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) of Pakistan and China has approved new road infrastructure projects of the Ministry of Communications under the CPEC.

Its meeting held in Islamabad has made the western route of the CPEC a reality.

The Joint Cooperation Committee approved Dera Ismail Khan-Zhob section of the western route.

Swat Expressway, Kohat-D.I. Khan motorway and Chitral-Gilgit Baltistan road have also been made part of the corridor project.

The meeting also approved Nokandi-Maskail-Turbat and Mirpur-Muzaffarabad-Mansehra road projects.
