Federal Interior Secretary Abdullah Khan Sumbal passed away in Lahore today [Wednesday] after battling illness.

Abdullah Sumbal, who had been ailing for some time, had taken charge as the interior secretary on August 20.

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Secretary Ministry of Interior Abdullah Khan Sumbal.

In his condolence message, the Caretaker Prime Minister said Abdullah Khan Sambal was a talented officer. He said Abdullah Khan Sambal has unmatched services for the country and nation.

Anwaar Ul Haq Kakar said death of Abdullah Khan Sambal has caused irreparable damage to the civil service.

Meanwhile, Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfaraz Ahmad Bugti and Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi also expressed his condolences to the family of Abdullah Khan Sumbal.
