Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of Group Captain Asim Tariq.

In a statement, he said Group Captain Asim Tariq set an exceptional example of courage, bravery, and devotion to duty by sacrificing his life to protect the life and dignity of a woman.

He said the nation will always honour and remember the sacrifices of such brave sons of the soil.

Praying for the departed soul, the Prime Minister also extended his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the family of the martyred officer. He said the entire nation stands in solidarity with the bereaved family in this hour of grief.

The Prime Minister directed the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into the incident and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice and punished in accordance with the law.
