
Indian forces continued their cordon and search operation for the third consecutive day today in Shopian district of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, further intensifying restrictions on civilian life.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the operation, launched on Friday night by the Indian police and paramilitary forces in Meemandar and adjoining areas, has kept large parts of the district under a heavy military siege.
The troops ordered residents of at least six villages to remain indoors, barring them from visiting their apple orchards and agricultural fields.
In Rajouri district, Indian forces further expanded their prolonged military operation, which entered its 45th consecutive day today.
Massive search operations backed by drones and gunship helicopters continued in the Dorimal and Gambhir Mughlan areas of Manjakote, while fresh searches were also launched in Meenka and Beripattan in Sunderbani.
