May 06, 2026

Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has said sustainable peace can only be achieved through dialogue and diplomacy rather than confrontation.

He was addressing the "Paigham-e-Islam" Conference in Islamabad today.

The Chairman said Pakistan has consistently demonstrated restraint, responsibility, and strategic prudence in promoting de-escalation and constructive engagement.

He further emphasized Pakistan's longstanding commitment to strengthening ties within the Muslim world. He proposed enhanced coordination among key international forums, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Arab League, and Inter-Parliamentary Union, to develop a structured and institutionalized framework for dialogue, mediation, and peaceful dispute resolution.

Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani called upon the international community to move beyond divisions and work collectively towards a world defined by peace, stability, and shared prosperity.

He reiterated that Pakistan stands ready not only to support this noble cause but also to lead by example.
