Prime Minister Imran Khan has said the PTI Government is taking every possible step for the development of South Punjab as the area was left behind due to unfair distribution of resources.
Talking to members of the national and the provincial assemblies, hailing from South Punjab, in Lahore today, he said prosperity and economic development in Pakistan can only be made possible by ensuring equality in application of law and provision of justice.
Directing the parliamentarians to resolve people's problems in their respective constituencies on priority basis, the Prime Minister assured his full cooperation and said that he would soon preside over a meeting to finalize their recommendations regarding proposed development projects on priority basis.
The Parliamentarians from South Punjab thanked Imran Khan for taking interest for the development of their area and setting priorities regarding projects of public welfare and development. They said their area was ignored in the past, but the PTI Government is ensuring implementing the vision of South Punjab's development and prosperity in the real sense.
The lawmakers presented their suggestions for the resolution of problems being faced by the people of their respective constituencies. These suggestions were about road infrastructure, provision of clean drinking water, sewerage, and mega development projects.
During the meeting, matters related to public welfare, development and establishment of South Punjab Secretariat.
Those, who call on the Prime Minister, include Farooq Azam, Rana Qasim Noon, Sardar Nasrullah Khan Dareeshak, Tahir Iqbal, Abdul Ghaffar Watto, Mian Shafique Araeen, Sardar Talal Gopang, Samiullah Chaudhry, Husnain Dareeshak, and Dost Muhammad Mazari.
Minister for Industries Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiyar, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, and Punjab Finance Minister Makhdoom Hashim Jawanbakht were also present on the occasion.
