In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned the authorities for disallowing Jumatul Wida prayers at the historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar. In a statement in Srinagar, the APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas said that barring people from offering prayers and imposition of enforced lockdowns on Jamia Masjid reflect Modi regime’s deep-rooted prejudice and hatred for Muslim sentiments. In a statement, Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti said the BJP regime has imposed draconian measures, effectively imprisoning the entire populace of IIOJK.

Separately, reacting to the Indian army’s probe confirming that three civilians were tortured to death during custody in December, last year, in Poonch, Mehbooba Mufti said no action followed in previous inquiries where the culpability of Indian armed personnel was confirmed. Meanwhile, posters have emerged in Srinagar, Baramulla and other areas of the territory, urging the people to refrain from selling their properties, including land, to non-Kashmiris to safeguard future generations from the anti-Kashmir agenda of Hindutva forces. On the other hand, Indian police arrested two persons and booked them under the draconian Public Safety Act in Baramulla district.
