The Ministry of Defence today issued an official notification for the appointment of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir as the Chief of the Army Staff, concurrently the Chief of the Defence Forces for a period of five years.

The Ministry of Defence also issued a notification of two years' extension in the service of Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu.
