A big nexus of large-scale drug smuggling from Afghanistan into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Tirah Valley has been exposed.

According to sources, drug mafia and Khawarij, present in Afghanistan, are part of illegal activities and terrorism in Tirah Valley of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is due to this "political terror crime nexus".

Sources said drugs are cultivated on about twelve thousand acres of land in Khyber and Tirah areas and a significant amount of the profit goes to the Khawarij, who spend this drug money to secure this illegal business and fan terrorism.

According to local sources, those who cultivate drugs enjoy political backing and the operation in Tirah Valley is opposed due to link of political-terror nexus and Khawarij.

They said one hundred ninety-eight people were martyred and injured in Khyber district during current year and responsibility of these martyrdoms solely rests with political, criminal and terrorists’ nexus.
