
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz today launched five road projects under Punjab Public-Private Partnership Authority.
The projects include the Muridke-Narowal, Shakargarh-Narowal, Faisalabad Ring Road, Faisalabad-Sahianwala and Faisalabad-Samundri-Rajana roads, and are expected to generate revenue of 22 billion rupees.
Electronic toll plazas will be established on these roads, while private contractors will collect tolls through the National Highway Authority system and maintain the roads for seven years.
Briefing the Chief Minister, Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said four more roads, including Bahawalpur-Yazman, Yazman-Ahmedpur Sharqia, Raiwind-Changa Manga and Gajju Mata-Kasur, would also be handed over to private contractors.
She said the Punjab Public-Private Partnership Authority is also undertaking projects in health, sanitation, tourism, waste-to-energy, transport and education, including a Time Travel Park in Lahore, a modern truck terminal in Faisalabad and hostels at twenty-nine universities.
