Over twenty-five thousand Afghan nationals residing illegally in Türkiye were arrested during the first eight months of this year.

According to Afghan media, about ninety-five thousand illegal migrants were detained in Türkiye between January and August.

Statistics reportedly show that Afghan nationals constituted the largest group among those detained.

Turkish authorities stated that the Afghan nationals arrested did not possess valid legal residency documents.

According to the United Nations, over thirteen thousand Afghan nationals were deported from Türkiye during the first five months of this year.
