Pakistan offers 1,000 acres SEZ for Turkish investors in Karachi

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has invited Turkish investors for joint ventures in the fields of mines and minerals, energy, information technology, and AI.

He was addressing the Pakistan-Türkiye B2B Conference in Istanbul today. Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz was also present at the conference along with a large number of Turkish investors.

The Prime Minister said Pakistan has allotted one thousand acres in a Special Economic Zone in Karachi for investors from Türkiye, to be named the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Special Economic Zone.

He said 60 percent of Pakistan's population is youth, and this is a great asset that can help steer the country towards economic growth and socio-economic progress through IT- and AI-led initiatives.

The Prime Minister also appreciated Türkiye's immense progress under the able leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, transforming its industrial sector, with the automobile industry becoming at par with Europe.

Speaking earlier, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Privatization Mohammad Ali informed the participants of the conference about investment opportunities in energy distribution companies, airports, motorways, and the health and hospitality sectors.

During the conference, a short video was also shown to Turkish investors displaying Pakistan's immense potential for investment in various fields.
