
Chairman National Disaster Management Authority, Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, has urged everyone to play their role in coping with the negative impacts of climate change.
Addressing a media briefing in Islamabad today, he said Pakistan is the fourth most vulnerable country in the world subjected to climate change and disaster anomalies.
He said, since January 2025, Pakistan has unfortunately become 14th most water scarce country globally.
The Chairman NDMA said that the impact of hydro-meteorological related hazards is close to four billion dollars in annual loss to the economy.
He said NDMA is able to predict calamities or disasters well before time throughout the year. He said it will give an ample time to responders for preparation.
The Chairman NDMA said that the winters are shrinking in Pakistan and the span of summer season will be longer this year.
