Pakistan has welcomed the newly elected non-permanent members of the UN Security Council as they began their 2026-27 term.

In a statement, Pakistan's Permanent Mission at the UN said we look forward to working closely with them in advancing the Council's responsibilities for the maintenance of international peace and security.

Bahrain, Colombia, Congo, Latvia, Liberia have joined Pakistan, Denmark, Greece, Panama and Somalia to serve as non-permanent members for new term.
