Minister for National Health Services Mustafa Kamal has said the government is taking steps to improve healthcare services for the people.

He was speaking at the MOU signing ceremony between Ministry of National Health Services and Digital Healthcare Platform Sehat Kahani in Islamabad today for expansion of digital health centers.

The Minister said twenty Basic Health Units (BHUs) in the federal capital will be equipped with telemedicine facilities. He said Sehat Kahani will support ten BHUs, while the remaining ten will be equipped with telemedicine facilities through government resources.

Mustafa Kamal recalled that under an earlier agreement with Sehat Kahani, telemedicine centres have been established in ten BHUs, including six in Islamabad and four in Karachi.

He also announced that a state-of-the-art fully equipped telemedicine centre will also be established at PIMS.
