Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed gratitude over the milestone of 1000 successful liver transplants achieved by Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute.

In a statement, he said 4 million patients have benefited so far from the facility which was started in 2017.    

The Prime Minister said working of the Institute remained imperiled in the past due to political victimization, but when he assumed charge as Prime Minister in 2022, the Institute was revived.                             

He commended Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for working hard to harness the Institute's full potential.      

The Prime Minister said PKLI provides free of cost international standard facilities to 80 percent of patients.

He also lauded PKLI CEO Dr. Saeed Akhtar and his entire team for the role PKLI has played in saving lives and serving the suffering humanity.
