Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced financial assistance, free education for children, and residence for the families of three Pakistanis, who lost their lives during the rescue operation off the coast of Somalia.
He made this announcement during a telephonic conversation with Azhan Kashif, the son of Syed Kashif Omar, who lost his life off the coast of Somalia.
Shehbaz Sharif said the bereaved families would not be left alone during this difficult time and that the government would provide all possible support and assistance.
Expressing deep grief and condolences over the tragic loss, he assured the family that the government shares their grief in this hour of sorrow.
He prayed for high ranks for the deceased and fortitude for the bereaved family.
The Prime Minister assured that the government will bring the dead bodies of his father and two other Pakistanis, who were killed, back to Pakistan as soon as possible.
He directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all other relevant institutions to maintain direct contact with the families of Kashif Umar and the other two deceased individuals.
Kashif Umar was among the three Pakistanis who lost their lives during the rescue operation of a hijacked ship in Somalia.
Shehbaz Sharif announced financial assistance of 12.5 million rupees for each family, along with free education and healthcare for the children of the deceased Pakistanis.
He further announced that the government would provide a house to each affected family.
The Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Pakistan Embassy to expedite the process of repatriating the dead bodies to Pakistan while maintaining constant contact with Somali authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
He also directed to ensure the best possible medical treatment for the injured Pakistanis and to take all necessary steps to guarantee the safe return of the remaining Pakistani personnel.
