Minister of State for Finance, Bilal Azhar Kayani chaired a meeting in Islamabad to review implementation of the simplified tax scheme for shopkeepers.              

He directed FBR officials to inform shopkeepers about the simplified tax scheme during the mapping process.

Bilal Azhar Kayani urged shopkeepers to take advantage of the 15-day extension granted for filing tax returns.

He said if the deadline for filing tax returns is missed, shopkeepers will be liable to pay a fine of 10,000 rupees the first month, 25,000 rupees for the second, and 50,000 rupees for the third month.
