China donates veterinary vaccines to Pakistan to strengthen livestock disease control

China has donated veterinary vaccines to Pakistan to strengthen livestock disease control in the country.

The veterinary vaccines against Lumpy Skin Disease and Brucella melitensis were handed over to Pakistan at a ceremony in Islamabad today.

The ceremony was attended by Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain, Chargé d' Affaires of China Shi Yuanqiang, scientists, and livestock-sector experts.

Speaking on the occasion, Rana Tanveer Hussain said the donation is a reflection of the time-tested Pakistan-China friendship and growing cooperation in agriculture, livestock, research, science, and technology.

He said timely vaccination is one of the most effective preventive measures for protecting livestock from infectious diseases, reducing disease transmission, and minimizing production and economic losses.
