The first European Championships 2018, a multi-sport event has begun in Glasgow.

The European Championships involve 4,500 athletes from 52 nations and is being co-hosted with Berlin.

It is a 'mini-Olympics' for the continent featuring some of the biggest names from seven sports including athletics, swimming, gymnastics, cycling, rowing, triathlon and golf.
