The newly elected members of Rawalpindi-Islamabad Sports Journalists Association (RISJA) took oath of their offices in Islamabad today.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, administered the oath.

Addressing the oath taking ceremony, he said the government will utilize all available resources to promote sports journalism, and welfare of the sports journalists.

He directed the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Sports Journalists Association to constitute a committee to formulate a comprehensive strategy and submit recommendations in this regard.

Attaullah Tarar also lauded the efforts of sports journalists for creating healthy and conducive environment in the country.

A cake cutting ceremony was also held on this occasion to mark World Sports Journalists Day, being observed today.
