Musadik calls for strengthening economic partnership with EU

Minister for Climate Change Dr. Musadik Malik met Ciobanu Dordea, Director for Circular Economy at the European Commission, in Geneva

The two sides discussed prospects of strengthening Pakistan-EU collaboration on circular economy and environmental sustainability.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Musadik Malik emphasized the mutually beneficial nature of Pakistan’s economic partnership with the European Union and stressed the need for greater inclusion of developing countries' perspectives in global environmental policy frameworks.

The Minister also identified several promising opportunities for the development of green industrial clusters in Pakistan, inviting European companies to collaborate in this transformative agenda.

In his remarks, Ciobanu Dordea appreciated Pakistan’s commitment to sustainable practices and outlined potential areas for enhanced cooperation, particularly in environment, waste management, and circular economy initiatives.

The two sides also discussed pathways for increasing economic engagement between Pakistan and the private sectors of EU member states.
