Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has felicitated the newly elected senators on their election as members of the Upper House and expressed best wishes for them.

In a statement, he said Senate elections are continuity of the democratic process.

The Prime Minister expressed the hope that Senator will play their due role for the supremacy of the Constitution and development of the country.

He called upon the newly elected Senators to fully participate in ensuring effective legislation aimed at public welfare as well as progress and prosperity of the country.

Shehbaz Sharif said Senators' role is vital for the strength of the federating units and upholding democratic norms.
