UN Deputy Spokesman Farhan Haq says UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has condemned the North Korea's weekend launch of mid-range ballistic missile.

In a statement, he said the United States has also asked the United Nations Security Council to hold an emergency meeting on Thursday to discuss North Korea's test-launch.

In Sunday's test, North Korea said it fired the missile on an elevated trajectory in consideration of the safety of neighbouring countries.
