President Asif Ali Zardari has welcomed Pakistan's assumption of the G-24 chairmanship.

In a statement today, he congratulated Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and his team on this achievement.

The President said Pakistan's G-24 chairmanship is an important opportunity to ensure effective representation of developing countries in global economic affairs.

He said Pakistan will be able to effectively utilize the G-24 platform to promote the common interests of developing economies.

Asif Ali Zardari said the opportunity will enable Pakistan to play a role in promoting development financing, addressing climate challenges and strengthening global financial cooperation.
