Pakistan, Iran vow to boost trade, economic cooperation

Pakistan and Iran have expressed commitment to further strengthen bilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation.

The commitment to this effect was expressed during a meeting between Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal and Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri-Moghaddam in Islamabad.

The Minister and the Iranian Ambassador highlighted the shared vision of their leadership to achieve the target of 10 billion dollars in annual bilateral trade by 2028.

Jam Kamal called for the reactivation of the Pakistan-Iran Joint Business Council to enhance B2B engagement between the two countries.

Highlighting trade facilitation efforts, the Commerce Minister welcomed the reactivation of the Mand-Pishin Joint Border Market and urged the operationalization of the remaining two joint border markets at Chegdi-Kouhak and Gabd-Reemda.

Ambassador Amiri-Moghaddam welcomed the recent resumption of flights between Quetta and Zahed saying it would enhance  connectivity for people and trade.
