
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has reaffirmed the government's commitment to strengthen and stabilize the national economy through structural reforms, broadening tax net, bringing private sector ahead and attracting foreign investment.
Addressing a ceremony at Pakistan Stock exchange in Karachi, he said the government is taking all possible measures to facilitate the private sector to lead the growth led economy.
Muhammad Aurangzeb said the national economy has steered on the right path due to prudent policies of the government that have led to an increase in the number of taxpayers.
He said the number of tax filers have increased to more than 5.7 million, compared with around 3.9 million a year earlier.
He said the government is also taking measures to attract investment and expand financing opportunities under initiatives such as the Apna Ghar scheme, under which around 60 billion rupees has been disbursed.
