
All Pakistan Annual Naat Competition, jointly organized by Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television in connection with Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), was held at Pakistan National Council of Arts in Islamabad today (Monday).
Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, Federal Secretary Information and Broadcasting Ambreen Jan, Director General Radio Pakistan Saeed Ahmed Sheikh and a large number of Radio employees and common people attended the event.
In boys' category of below 15 years of age, Abdul Rehman from Sindh secured first position, Muhammad Talha Hashmi from Islamabad stood second while Hafiz Inam ul Qudoos from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa clinched third position.
In girls' category of below 15 years of age, Madeeha Dildaar from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa came first, Noor ul Huda from Islamabad second while Javeria Jamshed from Sindh secured third position.
In third category of boys aging 15 to 25 years, Ghulam Mustaf from Islamabad got first position, Sadiq Ali from Sindh stood second while Abid Gulzar from Punjab bagged 3rd position.
In the fourth category of girls aging 15 to 25 years, Zainab Noor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa won the first position Areeba Shifiq of Punjab stood second while Zareena from Balochistan got third position.
Secretary Information and Broadcasting Ambreen Jan and Director General Radio Pakistan Saeed Ahmad Sheikh distributed cash prizes and certificates among the position holders and other participating Naat Khawans.
Addressing the event, Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said Naat connects younger generations with rich traditions of Islamic culture.
Lauding Radio Pakistan and PTV for holding such a great event to pay tributes to the Holy Prophet [Peace Be Upon Him], the Minister said that both institutions are playing a viral role in continuing this great tradition and sacred responsibility.
