Pakistan has called on young people around the world to play a leading role in advancing peace, strengthening multilateralism and fostering international cooperation to address global challenges.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the conference "Future We Want: Global Initiative for Young Leaders" at the UN headquarters, Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, said Pakistan firmly believes that youth are indispensable partners in building a more peaceful and inclusive future.
He also highlighted Pakistan's consistent and strong advocacy for restraint, dialogue and de-escalation during the recent conflict in West Asia, and its support for diplomatic efforts that culminated in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
