Current spell of the intermittent monsoon rains are expected to pour in different parts of the country for next four to five days.

This was stated by Director General Metrological Department Mahr Sahibzad Khan while talking to Radio Pakistan's News and Current Affairs Channel on Friday.

He said on first day of the spell maximum 81 millimeter rain was recorded in Jhang district while in Islamabad it was 35mm.

The Director General said this rainy spell will lower the temperatures across the country, defusing effects of heatwave.

He also warned of urban flooding in different parts of the country, therefore, precautionary measures should be taken in this regard.
