The decision of Loya Jirga to release 400 Afghan prisoners was most likely. Pakistan remains the main stakeholder in the region and has always worked for peace, stability and prosperity of Afghanistan. Peaceful and stable Afghanistan is in the best interest of Pakistan. Afghanistan has been in the state of war since 1979. The demand of Afghan Taliban has been very clear regarding the withdrawal of foreign forces from their country. Prime Minister Imran Khan right from day one has been of the view that there is no military solution to the Afghan issue and negotiation is the only way to bring peace and stability in the war-torn country. Now the world is also acknowledging the narrative of Pakistan in this regard. The decision of Loya Jirga is a welcoming step. There are a lot of forces that are peace spoilers and do not want peace and stability in Afghanistan. Pakistan is ready to invest in the landlocked country once peace is restored there. Moreover, becoming a part of CPEC will bring economic stability in Afghanistan as well.
