President Dr Arif Alvi has emphasized the need for creating proper awareness with regard to the various societal issues including prevention of drugs.

Addressing a drug burning ceremony in Karachi on Tuesday, he said once a person get traps in the clutches of narcotics, then it becomes difficult to get rid of it.   

The President said we will have to discourage and stop the supply of drugs in order to overcome the menace. He said drug addiction has lot of dimensions that are required to be addressed.

He said Pakistan is going towards youth bulge therefore we have to direct our young generation to the opportunities of progress and prosperity.

The President said we are on the threshold of becoming a great nation and our country will be the important and respectable country in the comity of nations.

He also appreciated the role of Anti-Narcotics Force in curbing the scourge of drugs from the country.
