April 29, 2024

Pakistan and Malaysia have agreed to enhance bilateral trade and investment ties.

The understanding was reached during meeting between Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Malaysian counterpart Dato Seri Haji Mohamad Bin Hasan on the sidelines of special meeting of World Economic Forum being held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia today.

Emphasizing that regular high-level contacts provide impetus to bilateral trade and investment relations, they decided to hold next round of Joint Ministerial Commission meeting in Islamabad this year.

They decided to study markets in both countries to take full advantage of opportunities in different sectors for tangible economic outcomes.

Discussing the Gaza situation, the two sides called for immediate cessation of hostilities and provision of urgent humanitarian relief to Palestinians.

They also underscored closer cooperation within the framework of OIC for finding a peaceful and durable solution to the Palestinian question.

Ishaq Dar invited the Malaysian Foreign Minister to visit Pakistan, which he graciously accepted.
