Pakistan Ambassador to the United States Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry says Islamabad and Washington need to work together to achieve peace in Afghanistan.

Speaking at a lecture session titled "Diplomatic Encounters Series" at the University of Chicago, he said both countries must also work together to resolve the problems they currently face.

Terming the US and Pakistan relations very crucial, the Ambassador said there are some misunderstandings between the two countries and putting on hold or cutting off bilateral relations will not solve anything.

Addressing as keynote speaker at Spring Meeting 2018 of Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America in Chicago, the Ambassador said Pakistani-American physicians are the true representation of Pakistan, which is a country of talented, tolerant and diverse people.

He said APPNA represents a group of highly educated Pakistanis who are one of the pillars of friendly relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Aizaz Chaudhry urged the Pakistani physicians to encourage their children to get involved in US politics, media and entertainment and other nation building institutions and work to strengthen Pakistan-US relations.

He praised organization's projects aimed for uplifting underprivileged communities around the globe.

During question answer session, the Ambassador responded to the questions on Pakistan's foreign and internal policies including Pakistan's relations with the US, Afghanistan and India.
