China contributes $1mn to WFP for FATA IDPs

China has contributed one million dollars to World Food Programme for provision of food and nutrition assistance to displaced people and repatriated families in FATA and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The food assistance will be distributed among 158,000 people in Peshawar, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank and Bannu districts, North and South Waziristan, Khyber, Kurram, Mohmand and Orakzai agencies.

Speaking at a signing ceremony in Islamabad, Minister for SAFRON, Abdul Quadir Baloch assured continued support to the World Food Programme for its operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA.

Ambassador of China to Pakistan, Yao Jing, said the contribution will serve as an opportunity to begin a long-lasting partnership between World Food Programme in Pakistan and China.
