Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan presided over a video conference of provincial information ministers today to discuss prevailing situation regarding Coronavirus outbreak in the country.

Speaking on this occasion, she said a comprehensive plan is being devised with the support of National Disaster Management Authority to provide safety tools to medical staff fighting Coronavirus and improve medical facilities across the country.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said every effort is being made to provide necessary equipments for the personal protection of doctors, nurses and paramedics. She stressed that provincial governments should review implementation of decisions, measures and challenges for containment of Coronavirus.

Dr Firdous said, at ministerial level, a Whatsapp group has been created for sharing of accurate information among provinces.

She said protection kits will also be provided to the journalists visiting isolation centers in the country.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said a Coronavirus Journalist App will be introduced where affected journalists can register themselves and it will also help in sharing correct news.

All provincial information ministers including representatives from Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir participated in the video conference.
