Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has extended warmest felicitations to Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed on his election by consensus as the new Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
The election was held at the 23rd extraordinary session of OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia today.
In a post on his X handle, Ishaq Dar wished him every success in fostering Islamic unity, peace and collective action in pursuit of shared aspirations.
Ishaq Dar expressed the resolve to working closely with Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed in cultivating strengthened partnerships and constructive cooperation among the Ummah.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister prayed that may Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed's tenure be a harbinger of renewed energy and vigor in making the OIC a platform for collaborative dialogue and collective action.
