In Nigeria, twenty-five soldiers and a number of civilians were killed in an ambush by Boko Haram militants.

The security sources said, militants opened fire when the soldiers were escorting a group of evacuees from a village in Borno state.

They said the militants exchanged fire for some minutes before overpowering the soldiers.
